SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PROGRAM begins at 4 p.m. April 28 at Community A.M.E. Zion Church, 3605 E. 13th St. The seventh annual Jennie T. Kemp Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide assistance to qualifying applicants who will attend an institute of higher learning or vocational training. The Rev. Ronie Brooks, pastor of To God Be the Glory Church in Salem, Ore., will be speaker. The Rev. Robert N. Probasco, pastor of A.M.E. Zion Church in Portland, will present the scholarships.
