PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (AP) — The leader of Trinidad’s main opposition party is seeking the resignation of former soccer executive Jack Warner, who currently serves as the island’s national security minister.

Opposition leader Keith Rowley said late Friday that he will present the issue for debate in Parliament next week.

Warner has been a special adviser to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation, was president of the Confederation of North and Central American and Caribbean Football from 1990-11 and a member of FIFA’s executive committee from 1983-11.

CONCACAF’s ethics and integrity committee released a report Friday accusing Warner and former CONCACAF secretary general Chuck Blazer on enriching themselves through fraud during more than two decades with the organization.

Warner quit his posts after Blazer accused him of making bribes during the selection process of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup hosts. Warner in turn accused Blazer of improprieties, and Blazer quit his CONCACAF post in 2011 and next month is leaving FIFA’s executive committee, a post he has held since 1997.
