After Tuesday’s special levy election in Battle Ground, the gap between the “yeas” and “nays” widened further Thursday as more ballots were counted, according to the Clark County Elections Office.

In Battle Ground, an additional 533 ballots counted Thursday increased the four-year maintenance and operations levy’s approval to 56.25 percent, or 11,607 votes in favor to 9,027 votes opposed.

An additional 2 ballots in the Green Mountain school district decreased the bond approval to 57.96 percent, or 142 votes in favor to 103 votes opposed.

In La Center, an additional 39 ballots counted Thursday narrowed the gap. The bond for the district’s sports field was still being defeated by 53.38 percent, or 1,302 votes against the measure to 1,137 in favor.
