GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers selected Illinois State linebacker Nate Palmer with the 193rd overall selection of the NFL draft on Saturday.

Palmer, 6-foot-3, 240 pounds, started all 24 of Illinois State’s games over the past two seasons at defensive end. However, the Packers list Palmer as a linebacker.

Palmer registered 117 tackles, 17 sacks and 25 12 tackles for loss in his final two seasons and was named all-Missouri Valley Football Conference second-team selection both years. As a senior, Palmer was fourth in the conference with 7 12 sacks and also added 27 quarterback hurries.

After using their first three picks on Saturday on offense, the Packers dedicated the next three to the defensive side of the ball.
