Rattlers beat SaberCats in playoff opener

PHOENIX (AP) — Nick Davila threw seven touchdown passes to help the defending Arena Football League champion Arizona Rattlers beat the San Jose SaberCats 59-49 on Sunday night in their playoff opener.

Davila was 21 of 35 for 233 yards and one interception. Rod Windsor had nine catches for 123 yards and three touchdowns and added four carries for 25 yards.

Arizona will face the Spokane Shock on Saturday in Phoenix in the National Conference title game, with the winner advancing to the ArenaBowl in Orlando, Fla., on Aug. 16.

Spokane beat Chicago 69-47 on Thursday night.
