Kaiser Permanente Northwest awarded the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington a three-year, $75,000 grant for the clinic’s Project Access program.

Project Access provides free medical care for Clark County residents with specialty care needs who are low-income and have no health insurance. If they qualify, patients are able to access specialty care, medications, laboratory services, imaging tests and hospital services.

The grant will help support the program costs for application processing, recruiting and retaining physicians, developing community awareness and administrative record-keeping.

Since its inception in 2008, Project Access has experienced an increase of 184 percent in new patient enrollment.
