Letter: Support for light rail is lacking

Some contributors to this section evidently live in a not-quite-parallel universe (or a Lewis Carroll or George Orwell novel). There was a good example of this in Marsha Manning’s Aug. 20 letter in support of light rail, “Will of the community ignored,” where she stated that, “The option to have light rail across the replacement Interstate 5 Bridge was made by our citizens and local elected officials in 2008. Stop wasting taxpayer money and ignoring the will of our community and get this bridge built.”

In Clark County, Washington, on my home planet, known throughout the solar system as “Earth,” the voters have expressed their will by repeatedly rejecting light rail — as recently as last year, again. I guess, in that not-quite-parallel universe, a vote against light rail is considered support.
