Vancouver police say they believe five people from Portland were involved in a robbery of liquor at a Mill Plain store Monday night.

Police are hoping for the public’s help in identifying the suspects — four young women and one young man. Police were called to Safeway, 6701 E. Mill Plain Blvd., at 11:40 p.m. where the suspects allegedly stole a variety of liquor off the shelves.

One of the women allegedly wielded and activated a handheld Taser when confronted by a store employee before the group of five fled in a car waiting in the parking lot, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

No employees were injured, police said.

The suspects’ vehicle has been recovered and its owner interviewed, police said. While investigators follow that lead, police are also asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects captured in surveillance footage.

If anyone has information about the crime, or if anyone involved wishes to come forward, they are encouraged by police call the agency at 360-487-7400.
