FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — TCU coach Gary Patterson might find a way to start two quarterbacks in the season opener.

While either Casey Pachall or Trevone Boykin will have to take the first snap for the 20th-ranked Horned Frogs against No. 12 LSU, Patterson is now throwing out the possibility of both being on the field Saturday night.

Pachall and Boykin will serve as offensive co-captains and both will play even if not at the same time.

Pachall is 15-2 as TCU’s starter. Boykin won three Big 12 road games as a freshman while throwing for 2,054 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, when Pachall left school after a 4-0 start for treatment in a substance abuse program.
