Jamie Ford scored 17 points to lead four Battle Ground players in double figures as the Tigers broke open a tight game after halftime to stay unbeaten.

Devin Johnson scored 12 points, Taylor Smith added 11 and Colby Cahoon contributed 10 for Battle Ground (2-0).

The Tigers led 36-30 at halftime, then outscored the Wolves 20-7 in the third period to seize control.

“They scored most of their points in the first half (17) at the free throw line,” Battle Ground coach Wes Armstrong said. “We weren’t moving our feet.

“We kind of blew it open in the third quarter. We picked up our defensive pressure and we were able to kind of pull away then.”
