Sub-freezing temperatures are expected to hold steady in Southwest Washington for the next day.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, which will be in effect through 1 p.m. Tuesday. The weather service said there could be periods of snow or freezing drizzle as a band of precipitation rolls through the area.

Tyree Wilde, a weather service meteorologist, said roads could become slick with snow and ice this afternoon into Tuesday morning.

“Anytime there’s freezing drizzle, it becomes hazardous.” Wilde said.
