CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago White Sox and right-handed pitcher Felipe Paulino have agreed to a one-year, $1.75-million contract that includes a club option for 2015.

Paulino will receive $1.5 million next season. The White Sox hold a $4-million club option for 2015, which includes a $250,000 buyout.

Paulino spent last season in the Kansas City Royals’ organization, going 0-3 with a 6.51 ERA over seven injury rehabilitation starts with Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Triple-A Omaha.

He made his season debut on June 11 after undergoing ulnar collateral ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow on July 3, 2012.

Paulino was 3-1 with a 1.67 ERA and 39 strikeouts over seven starts with the Royals in 2012 before undergoing surgery.
