ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Renaldo Dixon swatted away Cullen Neal’s driving, fastbreak layup attempt that would have tied the score inside the final minute, helping New Mexico State hold on for a 67-61 win over New Mexico Tuesday night.

The Aggies’ victory ends a four-game losing streak to the Lobos (7-3).

K.C. Ross-Miller scored 16 for New Mexico State (9-5), while Tshilidzi Nephawe and Daniel Millings each added 14.

Cameron Bairstow scored 25 for New Mexico and Alex Kirk had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Aggies got off to a 23-5 lead behind four 3-pointers in the first six minutes.

The Lobos got as close as 61-59 with 51 seconds left after Kendall Williams converted three foul shots, but moments later Dixon came up with the big block, forcing New Mexico to foul.

Ross-Miller hit all six of his foul shots in the final 30 seconds to seal the victory.
