MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) — Drew Kelly scored a career-high 40 points and pulled down 12 rebounds, and Kareem Storey tied a school record with 16 assists as Morehead State dominated South Dakota 120-83 Thursday night.
Kelly, who had a combined 36 points in his last seven games, finished 14 of 23 from the field and 8 of 12 from 3-point range.
Morehead State (8-5) ripped off an 11-1 run to start the game and never looked back. Kelly scored the team’s last nine points of the half as his team opened up a 57-34 halftime lead.
South Dakota (3-8) had no answer for the Eagles, who hit 17 3-pointers during the contest, one short of the school record.
