MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Kareem Jamar scored 24 points to lead Montana to a 91-74 win over Montana-Western on Friday night.

Keron DeShields contributed 17 points, Jordan Gregory added 16 and Michael Weisner had 14 for the Grizzlies (4-4), who shot 53 percent from the field and have now won three games straight.

Montana led the entire game but didn’t break away until the second half with a 12-4 spurt that included a Weisner 3-pointer, then kept the Bulldogs at bay before closing with a 9-1 run.

Montana-Western, an NAIA team, trailed just 41-37 at the break, but couldn’t overtake the Grizzlies, who logged 11 steals on the night and had eight fewer turnovers.

Jordan Overstreet led the Bulldogs with 19 points, while Tyler Miller added 14 points and eight rebounds.

It was the first meeting between the teams since 2008, when Montana edged the Bulldogs 75-67.
