EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) — Parrker Westphal, a defensive back from suburban Bolingbrook, Ill., has committed to play for Northwestern.
The school announced Friday that Westphal will enroll in the winter quarter and be eligible to participate in spring practice. NCAA rules allow early enrollees to sign financial aid agreements as long as they have completed their high school graduation requirements.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Westphal had 47 tackles, eight pass breakups and three interceptions as a senior at Bolingbrook last season.
The rest of Northwestern’s recruiting class will be announced on national signing day on Feb. 5.
