Letter: Restricting fuels ruins lifestyle

I’d like to reply to those who want to restrict the use of coal, gas, and natural gas. Until you can come up with a viable alternative to these products, your cause is self-defeating. This nation and the world are built on these products.

Wind power is expensive (subsidized by taxpayers), does not produce much and kills birds, especially eagles, which are endangered. The government doesn’t care about this situation as it has extended wind power use for the future to help certain groups and not the general populace. Solar is not much good in the north and not even used very often.

Can we give up our air conditioning and heat? Do the supporters of restrictions mirror their words by living in straw-bale houses with no cars, dental or medical care, no food unless self-grown? Don’t let a small but vocal group disrupt our lives. Support progress and jobs.
