RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — New North Carolina State coach Dave Doeren’s first recruiting class with the Wolfpack is heavy on offensive skill positions.

The Wolfpack signed six receivers, three running backs and two quarterbacks in the 25-player class unveiled on national signing day Wednesday.

Doeren left Northern Illinois to replace fired coach Tom O’Brien in December. He said the program was short on receivers, quarterbacks and running backs returning to the program.

Doeren had to quickly hire a staff before keeping the team’s original commitments and add a few new names. Recruiting coordinator Ryan Nielsen said the program kept about a dozen commitments.

Among the Wolfpack’s top recruits is quarterback Jacoby Brissett, a Florida transfer who enrolled in January, and cornerback Jack Tocho, an Associated Press all-state performer from Charlotte Independence.
