Battle Ground received a certificate of achievement for financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association, the city announced Monday.
The award recognizes Battle Ground for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for 2011. The highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting in the state, the award has been given to the city 11 times.
City Manager John Williams recognized Finance Director Catherine Huber Nickerson for her work in preparing the document. In a press release, he said Nickerson was “diligent in clearly communicating” Battle Ground’s financial standing to the public and the city’s partners.
