TORONTO (AP) — Toronto Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer is expected to be sidelined at least one week with a strained ligament in his left knee.

Reimer suffered the injury during the second period of Toronto’s 5-2 victory over Philadelphia on Monday night.

He was injured while down on his knees during a goal-mouth scramble. It’s the 24-year-old’s third injury in three seasons with the Maple Leafs. He missed 19 games last season with whiplash after being hit by Montreal’s Brian Gionta in a game on Dec. 3, 2011.

Reimer came into Monday’s game with a 5-3-0 record, 2.30 goals-against average and .929 save percentage.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native stopped 37 shots in leading Toronto to a 6-0 win at Montreal on Saturday night.
