CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Miami’s baseball team has been tested for performance-enhancing drug use, including human growth hormone.

Results have not arrived, according to the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the university has not authorized the information’s release. Miami’s drug policy includes random steroid testing, but not HGH.

However, given the school’s link to baseball’s latest drug mess, the Hurricanes wanted additional testing.

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, a Miami trustee, was among those listed in a Miami New Times report last month alleging that a now-defunct clinic in Coral Gables was providing PEDs. Also listed was a Hurricanes strength coach, Jimmy Goins.
