Harvard cruises to 73-54 win over Penn

BOSTON (AP) — Kenyatta Smith posted career highs with 20 points, nine rebounds and a school-record 10 blocked shots as Ivy League leader Harvard cruised to a 73-54 win over Pennsylvania on Friday night.

The Crimson, who came in leading the Ivy League in blocks (4.1 per game), had a school-record 15 rejections.

Smith made 8 of 9 field goals while Wesley Saunders scored 23 points and Steve Moundo-Missi added 11 for Harvard (14-7, 6-1), which is 10-1 at home this season.

Coming off a 78-63 loss to Columbia that snapped the Crimson’s four-game winning streak, Harvard led by 13 in the first half, 37-37 at intermission and by 23 in the second.

The Crimson outshot the Quakers 52.3 percent (23 of 44) to 34.9 percent (22 of 63) and made 22 of 30 free throws compared to 7 of 10 for Penn.

Darien Nelson-Henry’s 14 points led the Quakers (5-18, 2-4).
