Zach Brown came off the bench to provide some key rebounds to help La Center pull out another close win in the 1A district tournament.

La Center will head to the Mount Vernon regional as the No. 3 seed from District 4.

After opening the double-elimination portion of the tournament with a loss to Hoquiam, La Center avenged that loss.

“I think we had some nerves in that first game,” La Center coach Jon Schroeder said. “La Centeer had not played a game at this level (of the postseason) in 10 years. … But tonight we were like ‘hey, we’ve been here and we’ve had some success.”

AJ Meyers had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jeremiah Arn had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Matt Braaten added eight points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists.
