Grants available for local classrooms

School employees interested in learning about applying for almost $100,000 in grants and scholarships for education are invited to lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at Los Pepes Restaurant, 611 Goering St., Woodland. The money is available from the Horace Mann Education Corporation-supported “Donors Choose” program to help pay classroom expenses and fund teacher projects.The lunch, sponsored by Schrader & Morrison Financial LLC in Woodland, a local Horace Mann agency, is free to school superintendents, principals, business managers, benefit coordinators, payroll specialists and teachers in Southwest Washington school districts and the Washington State School for the Blind and School for the Deaf.
