According to the hard-working volunteers at the Two Rivers Heritage Museum, this facility that holds the historical treasures of Camas and Washougal’s past is one of the area’s best kept secrets.
They may not be too far off base.
The museum is home to 6,000 photographs and 200 oral histories, including information about pioneering families of east Clark County. Visitors can access land records and family histories including donation land claims and homesteading information. Displays include art, antiques and memorabilia.
There are Native American baskets, antique dolls and tools, a 1910 pinball machine, a covered wagon, and information about famous local people such as NASA astronaut Michael Barratt, NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, Earth Day founder Denis Hayes and singer Jimmy Rodgers.
And there is a great desire for the museum to offer its community even more.
