South Dakota defeats Montana State 85-74

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Brandon Bos scored 21 points, leading five South Dakota players in double figures, and the Coyotes snapped a six-game losing streak by beating Montana State 85-74 on Sunday.

Juevol Myles had 16 points and seven assists, Casey Kasperbauer and Trevor Gruis scored 14 apiece and Tyler Flack added 11 points for the Coyotes (9-18), who overcame Montana State’s game-opening 11-0 spurt.

The Bobcats led 23-14 before South Dakota closed the half on a 22-6 run to lead 36-29. The Coyotes maintained the lead throughout the second half and Montana State lost its fifth game in a row.

Xavier Blount led Montana State (10-15) with 16 points. Antonio Biglow scored 15, Christian Moon added 12 points and Flavien Davis scored 11 points.

The teams’ only other meeting was Dec. 31, 1946, when Montana State won 53-49 at Vermillion, S.D.
