KENT, Ohio (AP) — Chris Evans’ jumper at the overtime buzzer gave Kent State an 83-81 victory over Buffalo in a Mid-American Conference game Wednesday night.
The victory was the 16th in a row for the Golden Flashes (16-12, 6-7) at home against the Bulls (11-17, 6-7).
Buffalo was ahead 60-49 with 11:58 left in regulation before Melvin Tabb and Darren Goodson led a 16-4 run that gave Kent State a 65-64 lead.
The Golden Flashes built an 81-76 lead with 1:19 left in overtime before Buffalo tied it with 19 seconds remaining after a layup by Javon McCrea and a 3-pointer by Tony Watson. Watson was fouled on his basket but missed the free throw.
