INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Travis Gruis scored 26 points, helping South Dakota post an 87-69 victory over IUPUI on Thursday night.
South Dakota (10-18, 5-10 Summit) also had three other players score in double figures. Juevol Myles had 18 points, Casey Kasperbauer had 13 and Jordan Boots had 11, including three 3-pointers. Myles also had five assists.
South Dakota made 20 of 25 free throws, compared to just 4 of 11 for IUPUI (6-24, 1-14).
Mitchell Patton scored 24 points to lead IUPUI. Donovan Gibbs and Sean Esposito scored 12 and Greg Rice had 10.
Esposito also had seven assists and Rice collected seven rebounds.
