A third-quarter surge and a pair of free throws in the final seconds added up to a win for the host Beavers in the Class 1A Trico League game.

Tanner Huddleston, who led Woodland with 16 points, hit both ends of a one-and-one opportunity with 10 seconds remaining to push the final margin to five points and deny the Knights a chance to tie the game.

The game was tied at halftime, but Woodland outscored King’s Way Christian 19-9 in the third quarter. Troy Flanagan scored all seven of his points for Woodland during that third quarter, when the Beavers were able to increase the tempo.

Kyle Hendryx had 13 points and nine rebounds for Woodland.

King’s Way had three players score in double figures: Kienan Wanter with 14 points, Jay Becker with 13 and Kyle Gonzales with 12.
