Voters who have moved and haven’t registered their new address with the elections department must do so by Jan. 14 in order to vote in the Feb. 12 special election.

The vote-by-mail special election includes two levy proposals for the Vancouver School District — one a replacement levy and the other a technology levy. School levies for the Battle Ground School District, the Ridgefield School District and the Camas School District also will go before voters in the special election.

If registering by mail, applications must be postmarked by Jan. 14. Online applications can be submitted through Jan. 14, up until midnight.

Those registering also can do so by calling 360-397-2345 or in person by visiting the Clark County Elections Department, 1408 Franklin St. in Vancouver. The department will be open until 5 p.m. Jan. 14.

Those who have never voted before in the state have a later voter registration deadline. They must register to vote by Feb. 4 in order to vote in the Feb. 12 special election.

More information, including a sample ballot of the special election, is available on the Clark County Elections Department’s website. To access an online registration application, click the “My Vote” link. Mail-in voter registration forms also are available on the county’s election department website.
