MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin center Travis Frederick says he’s skipping his senior year to enter the NFL draft.

Frederick says forgoing his final year of eligibility was “one of the toughest decisions in my life,” but he says he believes he’s ready for the NFL. In an open letter to his teammates, coaches and Wisconsin fans, Frederick says his time with the Badgers gave him “the skills, techniques, and football IQ that I believe I need to be successful at the next level.” Frederick started all 14 games this season for the Badgers, who lost to Stanford in the Rose Bowl on Tuesday.

Frederick will graduate with a degree in computer engineering this spring.
