Oral Roberts races past Nicholls State 76-63

THIBODAUX, La. (AP) — Warren Niles scored 29 points and Oral Roberts led by 15 points at halftime in a 76-63 victory over Nicholls State Saturday.

The Golden Eagles (7-7, 2-0 Southland Conference) got 26 points from Damen Bell-Holter and led 41-26 at halftime over the Colonels (2-10, 1-1).

Niles shot 10 for 18 from the field, 2 of 6 on 3-pointers. He went 7 for 8 from the stripe. The Golden Eagles were 17 for 20 at the line, Nicholls State 13 for 21.

Bell-Holter hit 11 of 15 shots from the floor and all four of his free throws. He blocked four shots.

Dantrell Thomas led Nicholls State with 19 points. The Colonels were 23 for 60 from the field (38.3 percent), while Oral Roberts shot 53.8 percent (28 of 52).

The Golden Eagles shot 66 percent in the first half (18 for 27) and had a 42-23 rebounding edge.
