Pacific cruises past UC Davis 74-64

DAVIS, Calif. (AP) — Sama Taku scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists in Pacific’s 74-64 win over UC Davis on Saturday night.

J.T. Adenrele cut Pacific’s lead to two with a lay-up, making it 42-40 with 10:40 to go in the game but that was as close as it would get. The Tigers responded with a 15-6 run capped off by Rodrigo De Souza’s 3-pointer with 5:06 remaining to take a 57-46 lead and never looked back.

Travis Fulton scored 13 points, Ross Rivera had 12 and Pacific (7-7, 1-1 Big West) shot 52.1 percent from the field and was 19 of 29 from the free-throw line.

Corey Hawkins was a perfect 8 for 8 from the line and had 19 points to lead UC Davis (4-9, 0-2). Adenrele had 14 points and seven rebounds and Josh Ritchart scored 10 for the Aggies, which had 18 turnovers.
