The Humane Society of Southwest Washington was part of an effort to rescue 72 American Foxhounds in Lewis County.
The Humane Society took in 17 of the dogs, and one of the dogs has since had puppies.
Many of the dogs still need homes.
Today, the Humane Society will place five of the adult dogs and five of the puppies up for adoption, according to a news release issued Friday.
The special adoption event will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vancouver shelter, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave.
