Williams' Tar Heels still rebounding

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- Since Roy Williams took over at North Carolina, his Tar Heels have always been determined to rebound.
The Tar Heels (11-5, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) have ranked among the league's best in crashing the boards, getting second shots on the offensive glass and outrebounding their opponents in 10 seasons under Williams. This year's group ranks second in the ACC in both total rebounds and rebounding margin despite lacking a true go-to post presence.
Maryland, their opponent in Saturday's game, leads the conference in both categories and ranks second nationally in rebound margin at 11 per game.
Williams says this year's Tar Heels have to rely more on a collective rebounding effort than last year with NBA first-round draft picks Tyler Zeller and John Henson up front.
