RUSTON, La. (AP) — Alex Hamilton and Jaron Johnson each scored 15 points and Louisiana Tech’s bench outscored Seattle’s by 42 points in the Bulldogs’ 78-71 victory over Seattle Saturday night in Western Athletic Conference game.
Louisiana Tech (16-3, 7-0) had an enormous 60-18 advantage in bench scoring.
The Bulldogs also had a huge edge at the foul line. They hit 30 of 40 free throws. Seattle (6-11, 1-6) was 11 for 18 from the stripe.
Hamilton, Johnson and Kenyon McNeail (12 points) combined for 42 of those 60 bench points.
Hamilton was perfect at the foul line, hitting 8 of 8 free throws. McNeail went 7 for 9 at the stripe, while Johnson was 4 for 4. Four of Hamilton’s free throws came in the last 1:21, when Seattle drew within 70-68, but then Louisiana Tech hit 8 of 10 free throws, three by McNeail.
Clarence Trent led Seattle with 19 points.
