Man commits suicide in public

A Vancouver man committed suicide Wednesday night on a sidewalk at 13504 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd.
Police reports indicate that Christian Alan Winter, 25, died of a self-inflicted gunshot to the head just before 8 p.m.
Police said there was no indication anyone else was threatened.
Bystanders called 911.
It is The Columbian’s policy to not report suicides unless they occur in public.
