Washougal — A new art display in the lobby of the Port of Camas/Washougal features prize-winning photographs of the Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge. The big winner of the annual Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards Youth Photo Contest is Matt Murray of Union High School, for his detailed study of a lucky sparrow with a yummy insect in its beak; the second-place winner is Andrea Nelson, a graduate of Skyview High School, who's now attending Brigham Young University-Idaho, for her graceful swan in the water. The annual contest is for photos taken by young people exclusively within the refuge, which is adjacent to the port's industrial park property in Washougal. There are 12 photos up in all, illustrating the diversity of wildlife and landscapes in Steigerwald; you can see them from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at 24 South 'A' Street, Washougal.
