A 17-year-old girl was injured Thursday afternoon when she lost control of her vehicle and went off the roadway and down a 15- to 20-foot embankment in Hockinson.
The teen was traveling east near Northeast 182nd Avenue and Northeast Risto Road at 1:25 p.m. when her vehicle went off the roadway and landed upside-down, said Fire District 3 Chief Steve Wrightson.
Firefighters removed the teen from the vehicle, placed her on a backboard and carried her up the embankment. The teen complained of leg and ankle pain, but did not appear to have serious injuries, Wrightson said.
“She did have her seat belt on, and that saved her,” he said.
Fire District 3, Clark County Fire & Rescue and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and American Medical Response were dispatched to the scene, according to a news release from Fire District 3.
