Robber hits Fourth Plain Shell station

Heights store bandit carried handgun

A robber armed with a .45 caliber handgun robbed a Shell convenience store at the corner of Fourth Plain and Andresen Road about 6:30 p.m. Friday.

The robbery was reported at 6:33 p.m. at the store, 7001 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

According to radio traffic monitored at The Columbian, the robber is a thin, dark-complected white man about 18-20 years old, 5-foot-9-inches tall or slightly taller, with dark hair. He has a large nose ring. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans, and carried a blue backpack.

He was last seen headed westbound from the store.

Police are searching the surrounding area, including Andresen Road, looking for the robber.
