Letter: Al-Qaida’s evil rooted in history

The Columbian
Published: January 25, 2013, 4:00pm

I wonder where the next human massacre will take place after Algeria.

Al-Qaida is in about 20 countries and the group is always killing or bombing something. It appears that this is all they do.

It also appears that membership in al-Qaida is limited to an Islamic religion; no Catholics, evangelicals or Christians.

And it appears this is just a continuation of the Crusades if, in fact, that campaign ever stopped.

It has cost the U.S. billions of dollars to fight al-Qaida and this leads me to wonder where al-Qaida gets its money and is this just a religious war that never stopped? Will it ever end?
