Girls basketball: Stevenson 69, La Center 62

Clare Chapman scored 10 fourth-quarter points to help the host Bulldogs past the Wildcats in a 1A Trico League game.

The combination of inside scoring and successful free-throw shooting was the difference down the stretch. Stevenson was 8 for 10 from the line in the fourth quarter and 19- for 25 for the game.

Point guard Courtney Bradley had 22 points for Stevenson. She hit a timely 3-pointer in the fourth quarter and was 7 for 8 from the line on the night.

Chapman, a 6-2 post, finished with 21 points.

La Center’s Samantha Wise scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but fouled out late in the game. Katie Whitten added 18 points, three steals and four assists.
