JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Keith McDougald scored 19 points and hit the game-winning layup with 20 seconds left to propel Jacksonville over Stetson 71-70 Thursday night.

Kordario Fleming added 16 points and Jarvis Haywood 11 for Jacksonville (12-11, 7-3), which moved into a three-way tie with Florida Gulf Coast and USC Upstate for first place in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

There were 14 lead changes and eight ties before Fleming converted a three-point play to give Jacksonville a 69-68 advantage with 54 seconds remaining. Stetson regained the lead on Chris Perez’s basket 8 seconds later but McDougald’s layup sealed it as the Hatters missed two jumpers on their final possession.

Jacksonville outshot Stetson 48.6 percent (17 of 35) to 43.8 percent (14 of 32) in the second half and forced the Hatters to miss all eight 3-point attempts in the frame.

Perez paced Stetson (9-12, 6-4) with 32 points and seven rebounds.
