Letter: Qualifications made to fill

The Columbian
Published: July 3, 2013, 5:00pm

Recent stories in The Columbian about Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, have got me wondering what qualities our Clark County commissioners were weighing when they hired him as director of Environmental Services for Clark County.

An imaginary posting might look something like this:

Wanted: Environmental Services director. Full pay for part-time work, full pension, no experience needed, political insider helpful, obnoxious foul-mouthed bully with history of harassing female colleagues preferred. Must be available to interview for position in the dead of night.

It sure looks like they found their man.
