Tahoe Tigress pounces in Belmont feature

NEW YORK (AP) — Tahoe Tigress extended her winning streak at Belmont Park to three, cruising to an 834-length victory over Haldane in Thursday’s $69,000 allowance feature.

Jose Ortiz was aboard for trainer Jeremiah Englehart as the 4-year-old improved to 5 for 10. The time was 1:36.44 for the mile on the fast track in the race for New York-bred fillies and mares.

Tahoe Tigress paid $6.80, $2.80 and $2.10 as the 2-1 second choice. Haldane, the 7-5 favorite, returned $2.50 and $2.10 while Newbie paid $2.60 to show.
