Clark County — The Council for the Homeless has named its “Hope and Action” honorees for 2013, and set a date for the annual luncheon that will celebrate them and raise money.

The awards honor Clark County people who are dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness. At the event, the council will report on its new Housing Solutions Center, a first point of contact for people seeking housing and other services with eight local partner agencies. The Housing Solutions Center aims to create efficiency among agencies, generate data and provide better service to people in need. It opened in March.

The 2013 “Hope and Action” honorees are Roy Rhone; Missy Shepherd; Dave, Jill, Erin and Benji Hellerud; Terry and Ron Frederiksen; the Hidden Charitable Trust; and Columbia River Mental Health’s Homeless Employment Navigators.

The luncheon is set for noon (doors open at 11:30 a.m.) Sept. 20 at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St. Tickets are $40 for individuals or $375 for a table of 10. Reservations are required. Visit http://councilforthehomeless.org.
