GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Offensive tackle Eric Winston says he has agreed to a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.

Winston confirmed the signing in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio. He says he understands he will be competing for playing time but he expects to be the starter at right tackle.

Winston also talked about joining the Cardinals in a series of comments via Twitter. Winston started all 16 games for Kansas City last season but was released by the Chiefs in March.

Before Winston’s arrival, the Cardinals had gone with Bobby Massie at right tackle and Levi Brown on the left side, although Massie worked some at left tackle late in offseason workouts.

The Cardinals reported to training camp in Glendale on Thursday.
