Hip-hop magnate Jay-Z is becoming quite the mover and shaker in the world of sports.

Not only has Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports Agency — which already lists WNBA player Skylar Diggins as a client — reportedly expressed interest in Portland Winterhawks defenseman Seth Jones, but now it can claim Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant.

The merger between the NBA star and the music kingpin comes on the heels of Durant’s most successful year as a marketable player outside of the court. Durant has starred in several spots for Gatorade, and who doesn’t love his “pajamas” commercial for Sprint? However, according to Yahoo! Sports, Durant desires more branding opportunities from his “idol,” Jay-Z.

Great for him, but if this means an MC Durant rap album is in the works, then no thanks.

The “Malice in the Palace” may live in basketball infamy, but a horse with a name inspired by the event won the Belmont Stakes on Saturday. So if Palace Malice can help bring positive vibes to such an ugly and shameful incident, we suggest some new conversion-worthy names for horses:

• A-Rod’s Contract

• Lance Confesses to Oprah

• Gamblin’ Pete

• Brett Favre’s Cell Phone

• Bonzi Wells
