CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago White Sox say they have agreed to a deal with first-round draft pick Tim Anderson with a $2.164-million bonus.
The team announced the agreement on Wednesday.
A shortstop, Anderson was taken with the 17th pick in the draft. He was a first-team, NJCAA Division II All-American in 2013 at East Central Community College in Decatur, Miss., after leading the nation with a .495 average and 62 runs while finishing second with 41 stolen bases.
He signed a letter of intent with Alabama-Birmingham before being drafted.
