Letter: Break the habit to save your life

Why do people smoke? Some smoke because their friends do it so it has to be cool.

Smoking is not cool. Every cigarette you smoke takes six minutes off your life.

There are 4,000 chemicals in cigarettes and 50 are known to cause cancer. Cigarettes contain tar and toxic poisons. Do people who smoke pay more for health care? The average price is $7 for a pack of cigarettes.

If you smoke a pack a day, that is $49 a week.

Is smoking worth your money? Is it worth your life? Stop smoking.
